Noor Mahal is a 19th-century palace built for the Nawab of Bahawalpur, blending Italian and Corinthian architectural details with colonial-era design in a single striking building. Its symmetrical facade, domes and columned porticoes make it one of the more photogenic palaces in the region, and parts of the building are open for visitors to walk through. It stands as a clear marker of the wealth and taste of Bahawalpur's former ruling family, distinct from the desert fort further out at Derawar.
