Hazarganji-Chiltan National Park protects the rare Chiltan wild goat, known locally as the markhor's close relative, along with other wildlife adapted to the arid hills surrounding Quetta. The park's rugged terrain is part of what has helped preserve this specific population, and it remains one of the more notable protected areas for wildlife in Balochistan.
