Ayub Bridge is the newer road and rail crossing over the Indus at Sukkur, built to carry the traffic that the older Lansdowne Bridge could no longer handle on its own. The two bridges sit close together, giving a clear visual comparison between colonial-era and mid-20th-century engineering approaches to crossing the same river at the same point.
