Frere Hall is a Venetian Gothic building from the colonial era, set within its own park in the middle of the city and now used as a gallery and library space. Its stone facade and clock tower have made it a recognisable Karachi landmark, and the surrounding lawns are popular with joggers and evening strollers. The library inside, along with rotating art exhibitions, gives the building an ongoing civic role well beyond its original 19th-century purpose.
