Set across the river from the old city in Shahdara, the Tomb of Jahangir is a low, spreading mausoleum built for the Mughal emperor, surrounded by a formal garden and four corner minarets. Unlike the domed grandeur of other Mughal tombs, this one is flat-roofed, with an interior chamber decorated in pietra dura inlay work. The surrounding garden complex, shared with other nearby tombs, makes for a quieter, less crowded contrast to the busier sites inside the Walled City.
