The Walled City is Lahore's old core, a dense knot of narrow lanes, historic gates and centuries-old havelis that grew up around the fort and the mosque long before the rest of the modern city existed. Wandering its streets means passing spice markets, metalwork shops and balconied houses that have been restored in patches over recent years. It's less a single sight than a whole district to explore on foot, with Delhi Gate, Wazir Khan Mosque and the old food streets all sitting within its boundaries.
