Tucked inside the Walled City, Wazir Khan Mosque is best known for the sheer density of its tile work, with glazed floral and geometric patterns covering its facade, arches and minarets in shades of blue, turquoise and yellow. Unlike the open grandeur of Badshahi Mosque, this one rewards slow, close viewing, especially in the entrance hall where Persian-style frescoes climb toward the ceiling. Reaching it means threading through the narrow lanes of the old bazaar, which adds to the sense of stepping into a different era before the building itself comes into view.
