Astore Valley is the main valley of Astore district, a farming region set beneath Nanga Parbat that serves as the gateway to Rama, Deosai and Minimarg further afield. Terraced fields and small villages line the valley floor, with the mountain's presence a constant backdrop throughout. For most visitors, it's the base from which the district's other, more remote sights are reached.
